Sign Of Life

HamsterWheel I discovered again: if you work 8 hours a day then you don’t have time for anything else. Because if I suppose you sleep 8 hours, work 8 hours, spend an hour for lunch and need 2x1 hour for getting to the job and back, this is 19 hours pursuit daily. Let’s count generously another hour for the morning tumbling to the kitchen for a coffee, brushing-up and preparing. And another half for the shower in the evening, and we keep 20.5 hours already. In the remaining 3.5 hours you have to fit the shopping; making the supper; the dishwashing; paying the bills and arranging other official things; taking your car into the mechanic; watching TV or a movie; talking with your partner; a chat with friend on phone, on IM or good lord! personally in a pub; dealing with you hobby; reading a newspaper or a news site; learning languages; a glass of wine in the evening; or stroking your cat.

Mission impossible, not accidentally you take the time from the only possibility: if you sleep only 5 hours instead of 8 you have the chance to squeeze in a very small portion of the above mentioned things in to a day. Every other, just slightly bigger plans of yours, like the usual businesses around the house, travelling, visiting relatives or participating in a cultural program is left for the weekend. For that tight two days in which you try to catch up with some sleep as well. Delicate wire-dancing is this, as you try to balance between the numerous demands, while the weeks run away – and we hardly realize that it is Christmas again, you have to start buying the presents…

If you have a time consuming hobby like amateur photography where some post processing is necessary, or blogging which is known as the sport of the time-millionaires, then it is a miracle if you sleep at all! That’s why we disappeared approximately. Our job is quite intensive; beside this we hardly have any time for other things during these 8-9 hours. Above all this - it has never happened before - our demand for sleep has increased, and we do need at least 6 hours a day, otherwise we cannot get out of the bed at all! :) Considering the bad, cold weather we withdrew to our cave, and still hibernate. We read a lot, watching movies, deal with our quiet things.

The first rays of the spring have arrived already into Madrid though, and my blogging mood seems to recur again. I will not make up many blog entries, rather posting pictures mainly. See you later! :)
